Regional Fundraising Officer

Job Description

Muntada Aid is recruiting Regional Fundraising Officer for Birmingham and Manchester. As our new Fundraising Officer, you will support the delivery of strategic plans and objectives, by generating and growing our income through community fundraising activities.

The Fundraising Officer is responsible for creating, maintaining and developing relationships with mosques in order to maximise fundraising and awareness for Muntada Aid. Create a mosque development/engagement strategy to enhance relationship and revenue to the next level.

Job Purpose

Positively contribute to the Corporate Funding Group in developing the organisation’s fundraising priorities. Working within an established fundraising framework, coordinate fundraising activities for the Charity with a particular focus on applying for grant funding from a range of trusts and foundations. Maximise income for the charity through a planned programme of fundraising, events, and sales and marketing activities.  Raise the profile of the charity with Corporate Organisations and other key stakeholders with the aim of generating revenue and other support.

Main Responsibilities

  1. To research and identify Mosques across the UK that can be pro-active supporters of Muntada Aid.
  2. To make regular visits and keep in contact with mosques to book collections throughout the year.
  3. To organise and attend meetings with mosques (both existing and new) to develop and maintain relationships.
  4. To promote fundraising campaigns and events through leaflet and poster distribution to mosques.
  5. To send letters to mosques to promote Muntada Aid projects and campaigns.
  6. To lead and promote Muslims Aid collections through stage fundraising, public announcements in mosques and other religious event.
  7. To plan and coordinate national mosque tours and events for/with mosques.
  8. To identify and implement creative and diverse ways of increasing funds.
  9. To work closely with all stakeholders (internal and external), participate in meetings and provide regular updates - ensure that decisions from any meetings or discussions are followed up.
  10. To produce evaluation reports on fundraising activities and incorporate any lessons learnt in the future.
  11. To represent Muntada Aid on live appeals as and when required.
  12. To attend events related to mosques and Islamic institutes for networking purposes.
  13. To assist the fundraising team in all other aspects of delivering campaigns and activities as and when required.
  14. To maintain and update the mosque database on a regular basis to complement daily / weekly visits with a follow-up report and actions to take relationship to the next level.
  15. To lead and conduct Due Diligence on all speakers, reciters and suppliers as required by the organisation.
  16. To maintain and establish new partnerships with mosques across the country.
  17. To create an annual calendar consisting of mosque activities and collections throughout the year.

Leadership and Management

  1. As the team grows, to provide regular one to ones to the relevant employees, ensuring that you adhere to MA’s annual appraisal framework.


  1. To ensure all records are maintained and stored appropriately in line with MA document management and IT policies.
  2. To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
  3. Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.
  4. Plus, any other, e.g. Travel requirements.
