In response to the Amnesty International report, 'Erased identity: Muslims in ethnically cleansed areas of the Central African Republic, Sayid Ali, Overseas Manager at Muntada Aid today said; "We have been working to support refugees who have fled CAR for many years, by ensuring that clean water is provided at refugee camps in Chad. However, this latest report from Amnesty International shows how the civil war is still escalating.“The recent news from CAR is deeply worrying to say the least. Muslim minorities are living under constant fear for their lives and we must do everything we can to stop the ongoing ethnic cleansing. “The lack of media and world attention has unfortunately meant that CAR is slowly drifting into a forgotten crisis. “With more than half of the country's population in need of aid and a severe shortage of funding, we call on the international community to do more to avert this humanitarian catastrophe”.
