Naif Sheikh General Manager Muntada Aid is currently part of the team treating people suffering from cataracts in Niger. This video log shows the number of people, mostly the elderly, waiting for their cataracts surgeries.
During this mission, we plan to carry out at least 1000 surgeries and provide the necessary medicine to patients. The mission is working from CSI Goure Hospital in the city of Goure, Zinder.
An estimated 5 million people are blinded by cataracts each year. Blindness affects more than 4% of the population in parts of sub-Saharan Africa. With your support, we are declaring a fight against cataracts in sub-Saharan Africa.
Our missions are uncomplicated, but their impact on individuals, families and communities is staggering. Each successful operation means independence, freedom of movement, working and seeing the family's faces again.
Would you please help us reach more people by supporting our Cataract Programme?
