Muntada Aid has been approached by the Libyan Ministry of Health to help them with their pediatric cardiac health services. All specialist doctors in pediatric cardiac health have fled the country due to instability and security problems.
We are traveling to Libya today at the invitation of the Libyan unity government in Tripoli to meet with the Minister of Health and visit some hospitals to assess the suitability of conducting Little Hearts pediatric cardiac surgery and Catheterisation intervention missions there. We want to help rebuild the cardiac health service thereby providing training to doctors and providing free treatment with our international team of volunteer doctors. We will carry out Little Hearts missions early in the new year. We will also be sending Libyan doctors abroad for training. More updates coming soon.
