Pakistan Deployment

Join the Pakistan Deployment

25th April – 5th May 2026

What This Mission Does

From 25th April to 5th May 2026, Muntada Aid Team will be in Pakistan to:

• Support children born with congenital heart defects

• Deliver clean drinking water

• Provide essential food packs to families in need

Little Hearts — Congenital Heart Defects

Millions of babies are born with heart problems each year — many in low-resource countries like Pakistan.

According to Muntada Aid's Little Hearts appeal:

• Globally, around 1,500,000 babies are born with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) each year.

10% of babies born with CHD in underdeveloped regions may not survive their first year of life without timely care.

• In Pakistan alone, over 70,000 children are born with heart defects annually.

Many of these children have holes in the heart or other life-threatening heart abnormalities and are unable to access specialized cardiac care due to cost and limited healthcare infrastructure.

Our deployment aims to provide:

✔ Life-saving surgeries

✔ Consultations for children with heart disease

✔ Support for families without means to travel or pay for care

Why Pakistan Needs Support

Why Pakistan Needs Support

Pakistan's healthcare system faces serious challenges that impact children and families:

Low Funding & Limited Resources

• Healthcare spending remains well below recommended levels, resulting in underfunded hospitals, shortages of medicines and equipment, and limited services in rural areas.

Shortage of Specialists

• There is an ongoing shortfall of trained professionals in Pakistan, especially paediatric heart specialists, meaning many children cannot get timely treatment.

Urban-Rural Disparities

• Major hospitals and specialists are concentrated in big cities, while rural communities often travel long distances just to reach basic care.

High Burden of Disease

• Pakistan faces both communicable and non-communicable disease challenges — including heart disease, malaria, tuberculosis and vaccine-preventable illnesses — straining limited healthcare resources.

Livelihoods Programme

Building on Muntada Aid's wider Livelihoods Programme

Building on Muntada Aid's wider Livelihoods Programme, this deployment will introduce Rickshaw Distribution to support long-term income generation for struggling families.

Muntada Aid's livelihood projects aim to:

• Help families become independent

• Provide tools, equipment, and training

• Create sustainable income opportunities

• Reduce long-term dependency on aid

Why Rickshaws?

Rickshaws are one of the most popular and effective forms of income in many Pakistani communities.

A rickshaw allows a beneficiary to:

• Earn daily income through transport services

• Support their entire family

• Become self-reliant

• Build long-term financial stability

How Your Support Helps

When you join or donate to the Pakistan Deployment, your support helps to:

• Offer free assessments and heart operations for children who otherwise may not survive

• Bring clean water solutions to remote villages

• Distribute food packs to vulnerable families affected by poverty and the recent floods.

Food pack distribution is especially critical in:

• Rural villages with limited access to markets

• Flood-affected communities

• Low-income households with no stable income

• Families prioritising medical costs over food due to child illness

Expanding food support on this deployment will ensure more families stay nourished, healthy, and able to recover from ongoing socio-economic challenges.

Every little heart deserves a fighting chance — let's make it happen.

Together, we can make a lasting impact for children, families and communities in need.
